Jatropha podagrica Native of Central America and West Indies this is as caudiciform plant with a swollen stem base. The fleshy stems branch out and bear large leaves on long petioles. Sheds its leaves in winter. Flowers produced in profusion and it seems to be in bloom almost throughout the year. Requires a free draining soil and warm conditions and a complete dry rest period after the leaves have been shed. |
