Manihot esculenta variegeta variegatad tapioca/cassava plant A beautifully variegated form of the common cassava or tapioca plant. The tapioca/cassava plant is grown throughout the tropics for the edible starch filled tubers. This variegated form has showy decorative leaves. Dormant in winter when leaves die down. Propagated from stem and branch cuttings in early spring. Habitat: The tapioca/cassava plant is originally from Brazil Ethnobotany: This variegated form is obviously grown only for horticultural purposes but it does produce thick tapioca type root tubers.
